TriflingTriflings are small winged folk standing between 8 to 14(2d4 +6) inches tall, weighing 1 to 2 pounds, and have pointed ears and high-toned voices. Their wings resemble those of a dragonfly. Skin colors vary but most are earth tones (browns, greens, and black) unlike their wings and hair that are of most any color. Clothing is usually light in weight and worn sparingly if at all. Triflings are by their very nature curious. The name "Trifling" can be traced back to the first non-Trifling settlement that they visited. The inhabitants were overwhelmed at first, but soon began to call their visitors "Triflings" after causing mischief and always getting in the way. More than one Trifling has lost its life to a farmer's wife's knife after spilling the all the contents of her pantry just to see what was in it. Most farming towns now a day frown when they see a Trifling for fear more will be on the way. (Unlike farming towns, city folk will still call a Trifling by such names as a fairy, a pixie or even a brownie. However, most farming towns and villages will use the name Trifling. Sages speculate that cities are too big to feel the damaging impact caused by a "visiting" band of Triflings.) Triflings, when born, are raised by their entire. Clans can be as small as two to as many as the current environment can support. Triflings do not believe in afterlife so most do not pay homage to any of the deities. This has resulted in a lack of priests among the race. However, should one be so lucky to find a Trifling priest, it is safe to say that the god would be one of jokes and lightheartedness. (Note: Triflings are not restricted to which god they worship if the player wants to play a priest.) The Trifling's language is very difficult to learn. One would have better luck learning to speak to a bee that to speak the language of a Trifling. In their native tongue, Triflings speak by moving their wings to produce certain hums and buzzes. Because of these, most Triflings have learned the human common language. Triflings can eat just about anything. They favor sweets above all other foods.
